5 Months Old

Graham turns 5 months old this weekend. Time is passing faster than ever with two sweet little boys underneath our feet! Both of them are a joy to have and keep our days very busy!

As for eating, Graham has 5 bottles a day and started having rice cereal with his breakfast about a week ago. He's getting better at keeping the cereal in his mouth every day. He's funny about his milk though. Oliver would eat until we stopped feeding him. Graham will only eat until he's full, meaning there are at least a few ounces of wasted milk each day. Usually he will continue eating after he burps, which sounds like a grown man most of the time.

Little buddy only has a bowel movement every 3-6 days, so you can imagine how disgusting they are when they finally come! I find myself hoping that I'm not the one that catches it many times because they are so gross. We've asked the doctor and he said it was fine for this to happen and he could actually go up to 8 days since he's a breastfed baby. Crazy!

Graham sleeps like a champ unless he's not pooped in a few days or is congested. Usually he goes down around 7:30 and stays in bed until about 7:00. We may have to get up 2-3 times a night but he does not even wake up often, just happens to be a loud sleeper. After giving him a pacifier we are all usually back to sleep within a few minutes. Graham is finally able to sleep without being completely swaddled. We still wrap up his waist and legs, but mostly only to keep him warm. His arms have been out of the swaddle for about a week, but we have to put socks on his hands so that he won't scratch his face.

Graham has a new trick! He rolled over for the first time by himself today! He's only done it one time from belly to back so far, but that's progress. I think he was trying to go from back to belly tonight, but he got irritated when his legs became twisted up.

Oliver and Graham are best friends! Though Oliver often gets quite loud and can be found in Graham's face, usually the two of them are laughing loudly at one another. Oliver loves talking to Graham, singing and helping him dance, and playing peek-a-boo. It is a sound I can't wait to hear for years to come!
