9 Months Old

On Wednesday Graham turned 9 months old. His personality is becoming more and more apparent, which is the most fun! He laughs at almost everything, especially Oliver. He can play by himself for lengthy amounts of time including sitting up in front of a basket of toys or rolling all over the floor. He puts everything in his mouth so we know more teeth are probably coming sometime soon. This includes his foot, which he does a lot after Oliver laughs at him.

Last Monday Graham went for his check-up. He weighed 20.5 pounds and measured 30.5 inches in length. He's tall and lanky as shown by the gradual disappearance of his baby rolls already. Developmentally he is right on track with a goal of learning to sit up on his own. The doctor said he would probably struggle with this and walking because he is so tall that he may have difficulty balancing. Dr. Bishop said not to worry though because he's in the window. He picks up toys, claps his hands, and rakes objects just like he's supposed to.

As for food, in the last month Graham has fallen in love with eating. He has four bottles of 6-7 ounces of milk each day and three of them are followed by solid food. For breakfast he usually eats an entire container of Yo-Baby yogurt. For both lunch and dinner he enjoys 2 cubes of fruit and 2 cubes of vegetables. In between meals he sometimes snacks on puffs, which he has gotten very good at eating by himself. We've also started with some chunky foods, like bananas, so he can work on his chewing skills. New foods this month include strawberries, green beans, carrots, and various beans.

The first year of Graham's life is going so fast!
