The Trip House

On Thursday afternoon we finished packing and made our way to Yellow Springs, Ohio where we had planned a weekend getaway quite a while ago with the Short family. After dinner at Ha Ha Pizza we stopped for ice cream and milk then made our way to what Oliver quickly started referring to as "The Trip House." It was a gorgeous refurbished farm home that was no where near anything else. The only sounds were birds and noise that we made. It was awesome! Enjoy the poem that I wrote to go in the guest book that pretty much sums up the weekend.

Four adults and four kids
All shared your home.
So much fun was had by all
Not far did we roam.
We barely had to leave the front porch!

Early mornings began with breakfast
Then adventures we took:
Hiking, biking, and the farm
Back home for lunch and then dinner to cook.
We barely had to leave the front porch!

The preschool-age boys played
With trucks, rocks, and blocks.
Glow sticks kept them entertained
And worked well as firework mocks.
They did not even have to leave the front porch!

The adults stayed up late,
Watched the sun as it set.
With little access to the outside world
We discussed everything, including how we met.
We did not even have to leave the front porch!

Four chairs were occupied
By adults and children hanging out.
A gorgeous view of grass, flowers, and animals
We love this place without a doubt!
And we rarely had to leave the front porch!

We hiked 2.7 miles and Oliver walked the entire thing!
We were so proud of him!

Who can resist a baby in a sink?

Graham LOVED hiking! He giggled the entire time!
