Our church is doing a sermon series right now called, "A Bright Future." The information presented from the Bible is a great reminder of how God has great plans for us and our future is bright. There is hope. Even when things are hard, we have a Savior who has plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11).
This perspective is much needed as we've had a few "rough" months around our house. The washing machine overflowed into the kitchen and basement on Thanksgiving and construction is just now beginning to make the house normal again. The water heater decided to start leaking and had to be replaced on New Year's Eve. Last week the smoke alarms kept going off randomly and had to be replaced. All four of us have been sick off and on since the beginning of November with everything from runny noses and sore throats to vomit to the flu to (this week's latest) double ear infections that have had both kids on countless antibiotics and the adults taking cold medicine. This is not normal for us and we don't always do a good job of handling it!
But we look forward with hope. "May the God of HOPE fill you with JOY and PEACE as you TRUST in Him so that you may overflow with HOPE by the POWER of the Holy Spirit." Philippians 15:13.
