Valentine

This year Valentine's Day has been special. It's not because of any certain gifts or the hype, but simply because it has just been fun! The boys had their parties on Thursday at daycare. Oliver and his classmates traded Valentine cards. We made each of his friends a Superman lollipop. Oliver put together the capes all by himself! Graham's class enjoyed treats. I forgot to take pictures, but both boys were dressed in red for the occasion.

On Friday I joined fifth grade for their 50's soda fountain and dressed in a poodle skirt with some of my coworkers. We enjoyed doing the Hand Jive with the kids and eating ice cream. The day ended with some special treats from Brent to celebrate a day early and to finish the week off on a positive note.

Today after my run (6 miles) I was greeted with chocolates and a card from Oliver. The excitement in his voice when he gave it to me was more precious than I could even attempt to describe in words. After a shower we went to Jump n Jack's to play. The boys enjoyed going down the big slides the most, especially when I joined them. Everyone napped once we got home. Then after church we had an early birthday dinner for me at Chuy's. Since the boys had late naps they were able to make it through the remainder of the night fuss-free. Well, except for when Oliver got a peppermint stuck in his throat and I had to pound his back, making him throw up, to get it out.

The past few days have been great for reminding us of how much we love one another. I'm blessed beyond measure with the three boys that make my days complete. I pray daily we can learn to love each other more fully as we continue learning what it looks like to live like Jesus.
