Bobo is one of the happiest kids I know. The only time he's not smiling is when he's in trouble. His regular offenses include being loud, acting impulsively, or just not listening. Oliver rarely stops talking, which is acceptable most of the time, but he's learning when it is not! Some of his latest accomplishments include buckling his own seat belt. He loves jumping off of things, which makes me nervous.
Oliver asks lots of questions and loves to observe what is around him. Though he is not reading yet, he very interested and loves reading the pictures, including making inferences based on what I read to him, to understand what the story is telling him. He's also really good at retelling stories that he's heard. "The Three Little Pigs" is his favorite.
Oliver loves to discover his "favorite" things. His favorite dessert is anything chocolate. He has a whole slew of favorite songs. His favorite food continues to be chicken nuggets with macaroni and cheese and peas and ketchup.
Swim lessons are still happening for a few more weeks. It's amazing the difference that just 6 weeks can make! Though Oliver is still holding on to floating devices most of the time he's come a long way in his confidence as a swimmer.
Oliver is also very animated in the bathroom. Just the other day as he was singing and going potty he asked, "Mommy, is this a good potty song?" More than anything Oliver loves to show others he cares about them. He is always hugging and kissing on his family. One regular habit is that when I come downstairs after getting ready for work he tells me that I look pretty. He's a keeper for sure!
GRAHAM
Mr. Busy loves to play, especially outside. Every time he sees a ball he yells out, "ball" - even to the point that he's discovered what balloons are because he used to call them balls as we passed the car lots near our house. He also enjoys climbing on our couch. For a while he would walk across the couch the stand up and jump to his bottom. I think we finally got him to stop. I was so nervous he was going to fall and hit his head on the coffee table!
Graham is like a parrot these days. He repeats anything and everything that he hears, usually the last word of the sentence. "No" is currently his favorite word, or so it seems. The neatest thing is that Graham seems to understand what we are saying to him because he has appropriate response. For instance, when prompted to get his shoes, he can get them for us. He can also get ones for anyone else in the family.
Graham is becoming a master at feeding himself yogurt or oatmeal with a spoon, sometimes messier than others. He also has taken an interest in books, his favorite being Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boynton. I'm excited because just recently can I get him to sit long enough to get through an entire book.
Graham is also a very loving little boy. His bad habit is hitting others in the face, mostly family members, but he quickly uses his hand to be "gentle" or "nice" when redirected. Other than that small bad habit, he loves hugs and snuggles.
