Weekend of Memories

This weekend Brent and Kyle went backpacking. They trekked through East Fork State Park for 23 miles in 2 days. Though they did not meet their goal we were super proud of them! They had a lot of stories to tell, everything from a hippie guy named Gravy to getting lost in a field,  riding in the Park Ranger's truck to over 2 miles of mud. They can't wait to go again soon!

Kristen and I kept the 4 kids. Over a time period of 48 hours we visited the zoo, played at 4 different playgrounds, enjoyed pizza and donuts, and both earned the pounding in our heads. The kids did great, but we both know 4 kids is a lot! Today all 8 of us enjoyed some time at the river front playing at a new park and in the water before our adventures had to come to an end. We can't wait to see the Short family again!
