Oliver is 5!

Today our sweet Oliver turned 5 years old! We had a great day. It started out with getting to sleep until 7, which is a treat (for Brent and I) since he's usually up by 6:15 or so. Then we had biscuits, sausage, eggs, and applesauce for breakfast at his request. After breakfast, Oliver opened presents from both sets of grandparents and from us. He got two new sets of Legos, paints and paint brushes, a book and puzzle, and new game.

While Graham and I ran some errands, Oliver and Brent built a helicopter with one of the Lego sets. Then Oliver had soccer pictures and a game. After the game they went to lunch at Penn Station while I put Graham down for a nap. Once they were home we all rested for a bit.

Then Oliver and I ran a few more errands to prepare for the big event, which was his party. Around 5:30 the event began with swimming. Once pizza arrived we ate. Then the kids played superheros for a while before we had cupcakes and opened presents. The night ended with more swimming.

Once we were home, I gave the boys a bath. Then Brent started reading The Magician's Nephew. It was a great day!
