Snow Day #2

Today was our second snow day. The boys started their day out at home with Mrs. G, my friend and our school principal. Highlights of the morning included pretending to be Iron Man to fight off the bad guys, watching Mother Goose Club Playhouse, Oliver winning at dominoes, and completing a few puzzles. The funniest moment was when Graham explained to her where Brent and I were at then Oliver explaining that Handy Manny was in Spanish. We were thankful that she was able to help us out!

So that leads to the next question... Where did we go at 7:15 in the morning? As of yesterday morning we officially have a "new normal" we are getting used to. Brent has been diagnosed with CML: Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. He will begin an oral medication at home for treatment soon that will (hopefully) keep the illness at bay until a bone marrow transplant is necessary. The prognosis is good at this point. It is an uncommon type of leukemia, especially for people under the age of 60. We are hopeful and know that God has a hand in all of this.

The rest of the day Brent went to work and I played with the kids. We spent a little time in the snow, but did not stay out too long because Graham's hands were freezing! Our sledding attempts did not end up well because the snow was slick and we almost ended up in the stream behind our house. For dinner we ate white chicken chili, which was perfect for a cold winter night!
