On Friday night we went to Old Kentucky Christmas that was put on by a church around the corner from our house. It was awesome to experience homemade candy making, woodworking, playing pioneer games, and drinking hot chocolate by a bonfire.
On Saturday morning we played at home then took afternoon naps. Then Brent and I went out for a date to eat at a local restaurant downtown and to see our church's Christmas production, Awaited. The entire night was fantastic because we got to eat without a fuss and enjoy one another's company for a while without worrying.
Today started out with a Christmas surprise that I will reveal in due time. Then Brent went to work and the boys and I hung out. Oliver and I cleaned up the basement (which is still waiting to be reconstructed from water damage) then made about 10 dozen monster cookies. In the mean time Oliver burned his finger due to stubbornness.
We ended the weekend by making stick puppets of the Christmas story and using the Jesus Storybook Bible to act it out. It was a great weekend of looking forward to Christmas!
