Whew! What a week!

The most exciting part of this week is that Graham took his first steps! He can only do 3-4 at a time, but his balance is getting better every day. We are so proud of him. The look of joy on his face when he moves himself forward by himself is priceless. The look on Oliver's face when he took the first steps was amazing!

Unfortunately the summary of this week is sickness. It started out on Monday night when Graham threw up as soon as we walked in the door after work. I thought it was just a 24 hour stomach bug because he seemed fine, so I sent him to school on Tuesday. He seemed fine all day until we got to the Beans Bash at my school. He threw up his entire lunch all over himself, the table, the floor, and me in front of a 50 person audience. Fortunately I work with some amazing people who helped me clean up the mess, took care of Oliver (who loved the square dancing!), helped me find clothes, and even snuggled with Graham. So Wednesday I stayed home with Graham. We visited Dr. Berger who said that he was perfectly fine and it was probably some sort of stomach bug.

Then the vomit came back again on Thursday morning for another visit. So Brent took the day off. Again, Graham seemed completely fine, and has every since. But that's not the end. Around 3:00 I got a call at school that Oliver had a fever. Brent picked him up at daycare. By the end of the day I was also getting headaches and cold chills. On Friday I went to work with a fever, headache, and chills with hopes of making it half of the day at least. I did better than that, but did come home early and take a nap while the boys were sleeping. This also allowed Brent time to finish his Christmas shopping. That afternoon we took Oliver to the doctor who diagnosed him with the flu.

So this weekend has been spent indoors fighting fevers and cleaning up vomit. Everyone seems to be healthy at this point except for Oliver, who just picked up his fever again a few hours ago.

On a positive note, Oliver and I made Christmas cookies this morning while he was feeling well. Graham was helping at first, but he just wanted to eat all of the dough. I had a awesome time decorating cookies with Oliver while Graham slept. It was amazing to see the difference in how he decorated last year and this year. Now if Oliver can get healthy enough he will actually get to taste them!
