3 Months Old

Tomorrow Graham will be 3 months old. He is getting so big, so fast! Though I'm not sure of his official weight, I'm sure it's somewhere around 15 pounds and he's definitely grown at least another inch this month. He does not go back to the doctor until the end of February, so we'll know official stats then. During the last week or so he's moved from 0-3 month clothes into 3-6 sizes. It makes me a little sad to put away the tiny clothes knowing that it's the last time we will need them. However we are very thankful that he's healthy and growing!

Graham gets happier all the time. Having him on probiotics has helped tremendously to settle his stomach so that he's not as gassy as he was for the first two months of his life. He also has the sweetest baby smile. The times when he smiles the most are when either Brent or I talk to him. I love tickling his sweet belly right after he eats. Like a true Carney boy, that's when he's happiest.

Graham eats about 30 ounces of milk during 5 meals each day. Four of these are from a bottle and for the last meal he nurses right before bed. He has the loudest burps I've ever heard! He sleeps from about 8:00 pm until 6:00 am, then wakes to eat and goes back to sleep until about 8:30 most days. The best part is that he wakes up happy. Just this morning he was cooing for a little while before we went in to get him up. We are still struggling with naps, which is partially Brent and my fault for letting him nap on us in the afternoons. It's hard figuring out how to let him cry it out when Oliver is trying to nap. Hopefully the next month will hold a better track record for napping.

Graham is also enjoying the company of his brother more and more. Oliver loves taking care of him by giving him a pacifier when he's crying, "helping" me change his diaper, and washing him in the bath. I can't wait to see them grow into best friends!

Graham started daycare at the beginning of January, but has only gone 5 times so far because of the crazy weather. His teachers say that he is pleasant most of the time, though he gets grumpy right before it's time to eat. He also only takes cat naps there and will only sleep in a swing, though they continue putting him in his crib like we do at home. I'm ok with that as long as he keeps sleeping in his crib at night.

Overall our little fella is healthy and strong. And we are thankful!
